Brax Reviews

Dining on a quaint harbor awash in sturdy southerly breezes evokes the best of our region. And when the food and service are fit for a Captain long at sea, well, "Thar, she blows!" Picking it for my birthday, my wife and I were quickly impressed by Shelby's doting service who, though busy, delivered a hefty piping chowder before we could even identify various seabirds close by. Caroline, bartender, dishes a superb French Martini and her wine pour is indeed generous. While we sipped away and tried some Cousin KENO - an endeavor operated by the classy, timeless Barbara, my wife and I split a signature Brax offering: Baked Sole with two fresh cod filets enfolding moist stuffing and drenched in a mild Newburgh sauce. 'Twas also flanked by crispy cauliflower and broccoli florets with a side of light Cole slaw. Quintessential New England! Soon, in full birthday mode, I was relishing a delicate Pinot Grigio while my wife tried a coffee piled with Jameson and whipped cream; how else to nibble on a creamy cheesecake with berries? In short, Brax Landing, like Cape Cod's numerous ocean hideaways, is a spot to enjoy leisurely, comfortably. For here, one can forge memories enough to endure almost any gale or sea voyage!

We enjoyed the view and service here quite a bit. The food was enjoyable too. The menu gives a lot of options and highlights traditional Cape classics. We saw a lot of snazzy drinks pass by, but on this afternoon we were sticking to sodas. Emma answered all our questions graciously and brought us everything we needed efficiently. Our fried fish was fried beautifully and a large portion. The parking lot looked packed but we were surprisingly seated right away.

My husband had their well known Lobster Roll with Onion Rings. It is more of a Lobster salad with mayo and seasoning, than a traditional Lobster roll. He enjoyed it, but prefers the rolls with just Lobster meat and warm butter. He gave the onion rings, high marks. I had their featured onion soup, which was excellent along with a garden dinner side salad. Both were great.

Whoa. Hold on here. What’s going on? Everyone who is reading this has had an amazing experience one time or another at a restaurant. But I’m telling you that what you’ll experience at Brax Landing will simply not be forgotten for a very long time. From the moment we walked up the pathway from the adjacent parking lot ‘till we were seated I knew we were in for a dining experience that I would be remembered for a long time. Drinks? Doubled up and not “cheated”. Appetizers? Absolutely over the top! Main entree? I had the Seafood Platter and it was unforgettable. Geez. The wait staff was incredible! Chefs? You know your craft. A truly talented team. Well that’s all I have to say. No wait. Best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Thank you. Ernie from Albany, NY Jean from Keene, NH Sonja from Seattle, WA.

Huge portions and a wonderful meal. We started with an appetizer of spinach, artichoke, and crab dip with pita triangles. So very good. My daughter and I both had a cup of clam chowder and it was loaded with clams. I had the broiled seafood platter and it was like a meal for two. It was so very good and the portion size was over the top. Great meal.

Great view on a lovely autumn day. Recommended by a CRNA conference colleague--thank you. We arrived just after opening on a Thursday, were greeted warmly, escorted to a perfectly located outdoor table with view of the marina. The lobster roll was huge and decently priced, especially after some of the over priced one we tried earlier in the week. It had big chunks of lobster, lightly covered in their mayo dressing. The cod reuben sandwich was also sizable, perfectly crunchy and cooked, definitely fresh, and very tasty. As the place filled up with patrons, the team approach was apparent and seemed to operate efficiently. Definitely recommend.

Decided to try Brax after seeing it was ranked gold by readers of Cape Cod Life. All I can say is I’m sorry I didn’t know about this place before- as a frequent Cape Cod visitor. After a late day on the beach this was the perfect place for a late dinner. The views are beautiful - they have both outdoor and indoor dining. Now let’s talk about the food- it was so delicious!!! We started with frozen cocktails and calamari- fantastic. For our meals we enjoyed fish tacos, fish and chips, baked salmon and prime rib. Everything was scrumptious!! The fish was so fresh and tasty. Our waitress and the service team behind her were amazing- checking in on us frequently to make sure we were taken care of. We can’t wait to return. Don’t miss a chance to enjoy dinner here.
